T-Shirts and beliefs

Got this as part of an email from Integrity Music:

Hearts On Our Shirts

On a recent trip to the supermarket, I counted 17 people of all ages wearing T-shirts that proclaimed brand names, ideas, opinions and beliefs. And I wondered what, if anything, those words meant to the people wearing them. I was reminded of Deuteronomy 11:18-21: "So commit yourselves completely to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands as a reminder...Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again. Write them on the doorposts of your house...so that as long as the sky remains above the earth, you and your children may flourish...." Whether we wear it on a T-shirt or not, what a wonderful promise that, as we grow in our knowledge of God's Word, He will cause our lives to flourish and thrive in Him!

I had never really thought that the T-shirt that I wear was part of what Deut 11 was telling the Hebrew people to do. If you are a Christian, does wearing a t-shirt with a bar on it(Eskimo Joes, Planet Hollywood) sound like a good thing to do, or how those that come from Abercrombie and Finch.

To paraphrase a credit card comercial "What's on you shirt?"

While this is a little scary, it would appear that the people are going to have to request it rather than have it being forced on them. Otherwise we would have a bunch of people just saying receive it so that it will stop asking like the way some viruses spread.

It is a fairly well established fact that the unplanned pregnancy birthrate increased after the pill was introduced. I cannot see how giving a person a chance to take a pill to make it all better will be any different.
Our society is in a 'take a pill' mode. Let's get to the real problem behind the situation, not a quick fix. I have no problem with rape victims using a pill like this, but over the counter is different.

Home Depot for August Project

For August, the Home Depot had a Pencil Box to take to school. We worked real hard on it, hamering, and sanding, maybe even some glue. Mom helped and we have some other pictures up at my picassa site. We had a lot of fun. Next month we make a Bird House.

Maybe because it was not the story that everyone wanted it to be.

Curt, we have missed you for years, I am sad that your voice will now be silenced forever.

May be true, but what is to stop people from doing it AND sending viruses to me. It does not make me feel any better. At least with Bluetooth it has to ask you if you want to make a connection. Too bad most people give up when it keeps asking and go ahead and accept it anyway.

"The state law under which Smith was charged prohibits accessing a computer or network knowingly, willfully and without authorization. Kajtsa said it's the first time anyone has been arrested in St. Petersburg for using someone else's Wi-Fi.

'This is a very little-used statute,' Kajtsa said.

Gartner Inc. analyst Ken Dulaney said he has no sympathy for Wi-Fi users such as Dinon.

'He should have put security on his wireless LAN system. It's the guy's fault that he left it open,' Dulaney said. 'Don't the police have anything better to do?'

Open wireless LANs are still common in many residential areas, even though Wi-Fi routers can be set not to broadcast their names, and tools for encryption have improved since the early days of the technology. Dulaney estimated that half of all wireless LANs are completely open to unauthorized users."

While I agree that people should close up their networks and make them secure, I would aslo say that the man broke the law of unauthorized access of a computer network. Because the owner of the network did not make it secure means that the person had a right to break the law. Telling us the police should find something else to do is immature at best. When do we as a people stand up and say a law is a law, break it and you get punished.
The other thing is the level of the user. I am fairly good with my computer skills since i have 25 years Computers and 15 years of that with PCs. I have a hard time setting up a secure wireless network, an amature does not have a chance.

Sorry guys, this was not "free speech". The reason they are pulling the plug is because sponsors are pulling the ad dollars they need to survive.
I do not see the EFF rushing in to put up chat rooms for all these people. If they are not going to do that, why do they have the nerve to tell Yahoo how to run their business. Yahoo cannot afford to run chat rooms without sponsors. And some sponsors were pulling company wide not just in the chats.

So why are they so worried about teaching creationism (here called intelligent design) in the schools. Is their argument so weak that they cannot take a little free discussion about things. In its place they boycott and other things. Seems that they cannot take the heat. I personally believe that teaching just evolution is teaching a bigger faith then if you teach that some intelligent being made the universe. You mean to tell me something as complicated as DNA just came into existence by accident. Seems that there is a better chance of winning the lottery 3 days in a row than that happening and we all know what the chances of winning the lottery just one day are.

# Law #6: A computer is only as secure as the administrator is trustworthy.

I have seen these laws around for years now, at least since the early 90's. But somehow this week they have been attributed a lot to Microsoft since they appear to be on their web site. While they are great rules to follow and I have taught them as part of computer classes that I have taught, trust me, Microsoft did not come up with them.

While I will refrain from discussing the merits of Spoungebob and his homesexuality, I think Dr. Dobson has gone off the deep end to say that Spungebob himself is evil. They would have to tar and feather the whole bunch of charachters mentioned. Anyone who watches the show (and with kids I watch it), would know that homesexual agenda is not part of the show.
On the other hand, I found these two quotes from the people resposnible for the video mentioned telling:

Mark Barondess, the foundation's lawyer, said the critics 'need medication.'"

OK, so we are talking about respect, but the people against them are mental retards. I guess resspect means if you agree with me it is respect, if you disagree it means you need to be sedated and taken out of society. Does anyone besides me see the weirdness of this?
